If you have more than four cameras in
your surveillance system, then you know that the ease of "scanning"
between cameras is a little tricky. You have to manually turn off
one camera, then turn on the next camera. It wasn't as easy to scan
4 cameras as 8 cameras! Now you can get a NEW smart solution to
multi-camera scanning! Now you can push one button and scan among
all the cameras in your system, whether you have 4 or 16! Its the
answer you've been looking for!How it
works: The default setting for the remote is to control 1
group of four cameras. To set it to scan through more than four
cameras, the customer has to configure the number of cameras.
This is easy to do: First,
slide the switch at the bottom of the remote to "Program" (See photo
on left.) and hold down the button corresponding to the total number
of cameras (if 6 cameras, button 6) (the LED will blink to indicate
that the change is made) then slide the switch back to "Normal"
while still holding down the button.
Now the scan button will work for all the cameras
configured.
.Because the 4 camera groups built into the
addressable power supplies (XM10A) remain unchanged, the
"ScanPower"
Director sends off commands
to accomplish the scanning function. This means that when changing
cameras outside of one of the camera groups (group 1: Cameras 1-4;
Group 2: Cameras 5-8, etc.), it will take a couple seconds for the
"ScanPower"
Director to send all the
necessary commands.
